Our story

Ships.trade was founded by Dimitry Ivanov, a software engineer and technology entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience building online products.

His experience with online projects in the maritime sector goes back to 2005, alongside his primary career in software engineering.

Ships.trade was launched in 2019 and has continued to evolve from a vessel marketplace into a technology-driven platform with multilingual listings, purchase requirements, automatic matching, communication tools and privacy controls.

Rather than acting as a traditional ship brokerage, ships.trade focuses on providing technology that helps maritime professionals find opportunities and work with them more efficiently.

Ships.trade is operated by MB Unit media platform, Lithuania.
